The National Entrepreneurs Association presents the 2024 Entrepreneur and Small Business Conference Friday November 1, 2024 from 9am to 4pm at Hollywood Casino Greektown in Detroit. This one-day event is designed to provide high level training for entrepreneurs and small business owners to grow and sustain successful businesses from some of the best business minds in the country. This year's theme is "Profitability" and will focus on profit-driving strategies to help entrepreneurs generate more profits. Sponsored by Dell Technologies & Comerica Bank.

Topic: How to Achieve Greater Profits in Your Business

NEA is excited to welcome Herman Moore, Founder and CEO of Team 84, LLC, a certified Minority Business holding company. A serial entrepreneur, Moore has put together a family of companies operating as a full suite of services, which includes a full-service marketing and communications agency, national contract manufacturing, e-commerce platform development, employee incentive programs, and business intelligence platforms.

 

Moore entered into business in the early 2000s after a 12-year career as one of the most productive wide receivers in NFL league history. He spent 11 seasons with the Detroit Lions (1991-2001) and one with the New York Giants (2002), selected by the Lions in the first round (10th overall) of the 1991 NFL Draft.

At the 2024 Entrepreneur and Small Business Conference Moore will share his story along with proven strategies entrepreneurs and business owners can use to experience greater profitability in business.

With years of experience in the mental and physical health industry, Integrative Health Expert Angela T. Moore has helped countless individuals strengthen their minds and bodies through an integrative health approach, using proven therapeutic interventions, effective exercise methods, and healthy lifestyle strategies. She holds a master’s in counseling from Oakland University and a master’s in business management from Walsh College, as well as a bachelor’s in sociology from University of Virginia.  She is a NASM Master Trainer with specializations in Corrective Exercise, Performance Enhancement, Fitness Nutrition, and Group Personal Training.  She is also a wellness blog contributor to A Healthier Michigan. 

 

Angela is the founder and CEO of The Body Principle which provides Integrative health presentations, workshops, mental health counseling and integrative health coaching to organizations and school systems.  Angela is also the founder and CEO of Empowered by Angela, which strives to provide education, information, and resources to empower individuals to achieve mental and physical health and overall wellbeing.

Dr. Allen is President/CEO of the National Entrepreneurs Association and has been an entrepreneur for over 20 years. As a Speaker/Trainer specializing in leadership and entrepreneurship, she has delivered hundreds of talks for organizations throughout the country and coaches professionals in a variety of industries.

 

Dr. Allen has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Woman of Wonder Award from University of Phoenix, Unsung Hero Award from Wayne state University Association of Black Business Students, the Spirit of Detroit Award, the YMCA John W. Sue Voyles is a Partner in Word and Vision Consulting, Inc. where she is a Certified Life Coach and freelance journalist. In 1999, she founded Logos Communications Inc., an award-winning PR and marketing agency. After significantly growing the business for 24 years, she sold it to one of her team members who started as an intern at the agency. She earned a Certificate of Entrepreneurship from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program in 2015. Sue has a master’s degree from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree from Madonna University. Sue works part-time as a Marketplace Chaplain and volunteers for hospice. She is married to Ken and they have two adult children. An avid sports fan, her hobbies include fitness, fiber arts, reading and watching superhero movies.

Megan Steenwyk is a Senior Program Manager for Community Contracting at Vizient and is responsible for developing key relationships to improve health outcomes by driving economic development and social impact in Michigan, as well as contracting opportunities for diverse businesses in the Midwest region and beyond. Her homebase is Grand Rapids where she was previously the Senior Business Services Manager at Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce. In this role, Megan executed and elevated programming for small business growth, with an emphasis on supplier diversity and economic inclusion. She facilitated a mentoring program for entrepreneurs of color, as well as led the West Michigan Minority Contractors program and the Business Growth Series. Anthony Lewis, an Outreach and Marketing Specialist, is the newest additional to SBA Michigan District Office team. Anthony represents the district office to a 29-county territory including Wayne County, Macomb County, and central Michigan. Anthony works to educate and inform small business owners about SBA services. He also works to build the SBA ecosystem with chamber of commerce and economic developments organizations. Prior to his service with the SBA, Anthony was employed by the US Congress and Macomb County.

After life threating health challenges, Maryann Nutt became the Founder and CEO of My Healthy Life, an expanding 1,300 square foot facility that services over 100 clients each week! As a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2007 with training in Oncology, Hospital, Lymphatic Wellness and more, she enjoys helping clients improve their health and walk out of her space with more mobility, less pain and a freedom that only God can give. Maryann is also a Health Practitioner with nutraMetrix focusing her training on genetic studies and isotonic supplements. As a Liteforce Deep Tissue Laser Technician, she has studied, followed protocols and worked with hundreds of clients helping them through photo modulation which she finds extremely rewarding.

Denise Everett is CEO and Chairman of the Board for Global Technology Associates. She worked at GTA for 12 years as the HR Manager then purchased the company in 2018 and has been CEO for 5 years now. The company was solely focused on the automotive industry and is now diversified into healthcare, aerospace, and construction. Her newest venture: In 2023 three Minority Business Owners collaborated to start Empower Charge Alliance LTD, a workforce development company to train returning citizens, college students, and underdeveloped communities on installing and providing maintenance on EV Charging Station and Solar Panels.

Ken Williams

Founder of Blacked Out Cinema

Topic: How NEA Certification Can Help You Grow Your Business Panel

Ken Williams is a screenwriter and producer from Detroit, MI. Through his company Blacked Out Cinema, he has worked on various projects ranging from the U.S. District Court in Detroit to 1124 Design, a production company based in Los Angeles, CA. He also has written for Encode Entertainment, owned, and operated by legendary comic book artist Arvell Jones, who has worked with Marvel and D.C. Comics. His latest project is SMOKIN GOOD, a scripted TV series about Black ownership in cannabis, which he wrote and produced. The series is currently on Tubi and other streaming networks. Ken is a graduate & valedictorian of cohort 8.

For Colette Hughes Real Estate is not just her profession...it's her passion. She has 25 years of experience in various areas of real estate from traditional real estate sales, short sales, bank foreclosures, tax foreclosures / auctions, helping first time home buyers, helping seasoned buyers and sellers, property management to property investments. She is currently the Broker/Owner of Virtual Real Estate Services, LLC, a real estate firm in Sterling Heights, Michigan. In addition, she is a  board member for the National Entrepreneurs Association since 2018. Colette earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Detroit College of Business and has a BA in Christian Studies from Midwestern Christian Institute.
